U.S. Department of Transporation – Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration – Commercial Enforcement and Consumer Protection Supplemental Course

While working as a Multimedia Specialist for the U.S. Department of Transportation / Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration National Training Center Headquarters in Arlington, VA. I created this Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration – Commercial Enforcement and Consumer Protection Supplemental Course blended E-Learning / digital course that is used to instruct proper knowledge of official FMCSA commercial enforcement and consumer protection standards for those enforcing these laws. It is intended to be used as an offical U.S. DOT FMCSA teaching resource with or without internet access based on the deployment used and different kinds of formats of the course information that is included.

Task

Working with a team of Subject Matter Experts and FMCSA officials I created, optimized, and formatted this FMCSA – Commercial Enforcement and Consumer Protection Supplemental Course as a blended digital / in-person instruction deployment E-Learning course. Deployed as a zip file containing all of the necessary course information and official documents this course is designed to be used with or without an internet connection making it suitable for teaching FMCSA methods anywhere that users have access to a computer. Containing an XHTML / CSS interface with links to a mix of walkthrough instructional PDF files, multimedia, and documents that an instructor can use to teach the course this was the legacy method of teaching the FMCSA courses. As an innovation to update this method I also included HTML5 Adobe Captivate E-Learning slides that provide all of the course content and link to all of the course documents in the same manner that the legacy PDF based version did which can also be used as an additional method for the instructor to teach and can be run on a web browser without internet access providing the course instructors with legacy PDF as well as modern HTML5 / E-Learning methods to teach the content.
