CDC – National Center for Health Statistics – Data Products Animation

While working as a Web Developer / Designer for the CDC / National Center for Health Statistics / Office of Information Services (OIS) at the headquarters in Hyattsville, MD I created this HTML5 “CDC – National Center for Health Statistics – Data Products Animation” that I proposed in one of our daily organizational meetings as a new and unique way to attract attention to displays used in various health conventions that the NCHS participates in. I used the reasoning that instead of using a normal static printed image at a convention booth this HTML5 animation that was constantly looping could be used on a 50 inch LCD screen as a better way to attract attention from people who were browsing different booths at a heath convention.

Task

I proposed this HTML5 Animation as a new and unique way to attract attention at convention booths for the NCHS and it was approved by my boss the head of the Office of Information Services (OIS) and the Director of the NCHS. I produced it using all vector elements and made it fully responsive meaning that it could be used on a website or could be enlarged to be used on a 50 inch or larger LCD and it would scale perfectly without losing any resolution. I created it using HTML5 and jQuery in Adobe Animate and also included links on the animation elements that when clicked link to the NCHS website to the actual data products being offered by the CDC NCHS that were being featured in the animation. I animated it such a way that it loops continuously so that the animation could constantly be run on a LCD display at a convention that the NCHS was attending and would attract attention from convention goers. This received positive feedback from the NCHS Director as well as the head of the NCHS Office of Information Services (OIS).
