PBS / NASA – Global Climate Change Education Initiative Modules
While working at PBS headquarters in Arlington, VA as a Web Designer & Developer I created custom website modules for a joint project by PBS TeacherLine and NASA’s Global Climate Change Education initiative. This initiative was a Congressionally-directed project with a broad focus of improving research and education in global climate change designed to improve the quality of the nation’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.

My Task
Task
I was given the task of taking numerous modules of scientific STEM education data about Global Climate change supplied by NASA and edited by PBS TeacherLine and turning it into functional XHTML based web pages / which resulted in a web micro site of a suite of XHTML modules. The features include various XHTML techniques such as hover elements, callouts, hyperlinks, and anchor tags, JavaScript and jQuery based interactions such as image pop ups, hot spots, and accordion reveals as well as CSS implementation for styling. I performed all of the coding and UI / UX layout for the modules based on the educational data and links that I was given and they were deployed in a Drupal based Content Management System for PBS TeacherLine.
