Task

I was tasked with creating a website version of the NOAA Business Operations Manual for the NOAA Office Program Planning and Integration. This was a preexisting document in PDF form that was constantly reviewed and updated by various department heads encompasing all of NOAA. The Business Operations Manual was a reference of NOAA’s organizational structure, providing information about the operating branches, corporate functions, strategic and executing organization, and Regional Collaboration effort, as well as intersections among these entities and functions and was meant to help provide an overall description of what NOAA is and does. To accomplish this task I worked extensively with high level NOAA officials within the Office of Program Planning and Integration and did many presentations and revisions based on the client input after presentations where I provided many different options for the microsite including a rotating HTML5 / jQuery based banner image at the top which showcased many of the different aspects of NOAA that included links to NOAA websites when scrolled over. I also had to provide constant estimates for each stage of work. After the final versions were approved I then integrated the finalized version into the prexisting website behind the Government firewall at NOAA headquarters which was a WordPress based Government website that I customized with a type of themeing combined with customized XHTML and CSS.
